There were times when people gathered together to tell the tales. Every person had some amusing stories to tell. Mostly the art of storytelling was in the hands of senior citizens. Grandfathers and grandmothers were the prime storytellers. All little children of the house gathered around the storyteller and ask for their favorite stories at night. Nowadays technology has replaced the forgotten art of storytelling. Today, the main focus of the story is the tuck boxes. This is a box for enclosing things. The relationship between the box and things are quite strange. The strangeness is all about how the box changes the whole perception of the enclosed thing. But this strangeness is not our prime concern.

This box has traveled a long distance. Its journey starts from where the pulp is collected. Hardworking men collected the pulp and put it in the machines for making a sheet. The pulp sheet is compressed and printed on. After the printing, the sheet was cut into pieces. And workers put the cut sheets into bundles. Then the bundles sent to the packaging unit. Where sheets were folded into boxes and things were put into the boxes. There the boxes found their true purpose. And the purpose was safeguarding the thing enclosed in it. Then the boxes traveled to the market and placed on the shelves for display. With the passage of time, people came and bought the boxes and carried them into their houses. There the journey of the truck box ends. From the factory to the hands of people, a long journey of a box.

Life Of The Box After The Use:

This part of the story is a sad one. When the boxes have served their purpose, they become useless. Some people fold them and store them for future use but most of the people throw them away in the trash. From trash, the boxes have two different destinations. One destination is towards a landfill where boxes remain dumped for a long time. And the other destination is a recycling plant. Where the material of the box is cleaned and processed and from the body of an old box, new packaging boxes come into being. For happy ending lovers, the recycling of the boxes is a happy end for the journey of the box. But a majority of boxes do not reach this destiny.

The Ultimate Reality Of The Box:

From the manufacturing unit to the market and from the market to the houses and from there to the trash bin, this is the journey of every packaging box. If the material of the box is biodegradable then it causes no harm to the environment. But if the material is not biodegradable then the box causes harm to the environment. We all as reasonable persons should put the waste of boxes into good positive use. We should send them for recycling. This way we all will serve a better purpose.
